Speed up your dry mounting by using SpeedMount – where the heat activated adhesive is coated directly onto the smooth face of the mounting board

Quality white-liner board, 2.25mm thick. Coated on one side with pH neutral heat-activated adhesive which is non-tacky when cold.

Manufactured in UK by ColourMount, SpeedMount dry mounting board can reduce process time by comparison with using dry mounting tissue. The adhesive works best with smoother papers.

In use, cut board to size, slightly larger than the print to be mounted. Position the print on top, face up, and place over-size release paper over that, silicone side down.

Place in a heated press, vacuum or flat-bed, and set at 80° - 90°C. Typical dwell time is 2-3 minutes but ideal settings for both will be determined with experience. The edges sometimes bond first so take care to ensure that the centre of the print has also bonded.

Remove ‘sandwich’ from press and place on flat surface to cool before trimming. A suitable weight can help it cool flat.

The bonding is intended to be permanent and can be difficult to reverse.

Board storage: Keep wrapped and ideally store at an RH of 45-65% and 15° - 23°C.
