To help minimise the bowing of larger stretcher bar frames under tension

A Premium Brace Bar is 44mm x 14mm section and made from slow growing Baltic finger-joined pine. They fit into stretcher frames for canvas made with Premium Stretcher Bars.

Premium Stretcher Bars 762mm / 30" and longer are notched at the centre of the inner edge. Premium Brace Bars from 762mm / 30" are notched at the centre of the face to cross and sit flush.
